The CFO Roundtable is targeted for the top financial people in small to midsize area businesses. The intent of this program is to provide networking opportunities, short educational briefings, and an opportunity for individuals to share ideas and ask questions within a peer group. The educational portion of the program will be focusing on best practices and other issues relevant to the CFO position- taxes, financing, etc.

The speakers for this event will include James Herman from Tolera Therapeutics and Bob Moore from Gilbert Residence. The October meeting is tentatively titled "Formalizing the Financial Function" and the presenters may cover some of the following:
- Brief introduction and background of each panelist
- At what stage in a business life cycle is a Finance position necessary?
- Why not just maintain a bookkeeper/accountant?
- Aren't Finance roles/CFOs for "sexy" businesses, such as high growth venture-backed businesses? I have a bricks and mortar, retail or service business. Why incur the extra cost of hiring a CFO?
- Discuss impact of CFO function on the businesses HR, sales/marketing, and other success factors.

Our hope is to have the group drive future topics based on their interests.
