Kosher Lutherans

A holiday comedy about truth, love and tolerance

Kosher Lutherans. Franklyn and Hannah, a childless married couple in their thirties face a moral crisis over the Hanukkah and Christmas holidays when they realize that Allison, the unwed, pregnant, teen from Iowa whose baby they want to adopt doesn’t know they are Jewish, has never known anyone Jewish and what she's heard isn't good. What do they and their friends, do? You’ll be surprised by the answer in this new, holiday comedy about truth, love, tolerance and acceptance.

Celebrationworks Theatre Ensemble presents, “Kosher Lutherans,” November 6 through December 5, at 1420 Ogden Street (2nd floor). Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. There are no matinees. Tickets are $12. Seniors and Students $10, and available by calling 303-282-5391. Cash or check only. No credit cards. The cast includes the comic talents of: Beth Davis, Matt Ellison, Jillian Nicole Wagner, Megan Wedge, and Jack Wefso.

William Missouri Downs is one of the Western Region’s most popular and prolific playwrights with more than 18 plays written -- two of which are being performed in Denver this year -- his plays have been performed all around the world. In Hollywood he wrote for, “My Two Dads,” and "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." Downs is a professor at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where he lives with his actress wife, Lu Ann.

“Kosher Lutherans” is directed by Linda D. Orr, who also helms, “Voices of the Prairie” by John Olive, produced by the Coal Creek Theatre in Lafayette.
