Three of the most prolific and influential saxophonists in jazz - Dave Liebman, Joe Lovano and Ravi Coltrane -along with the dynamic rhythm section of Cecil McBee (bass), Billy Hart (drums) and Phil Markowitz (piano) will commemorate the music of John Coltrane on the 81st anniversary of his birth. Their program, highlighting Trane’s “late period,” will feature Gunnar Mossblad’s big band arrangement of the groundbreaking Meditations Suite with members of the Manhattan School of Music Jazz Orchestra conducted by Justin DiCioccio.
