Kick off your Earth Day celebration this Friday, April 20, at the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park from 5-–8:45 pm. The Green Apple Music and Arts Festival, America’s largest Earth Day celebration, has chosen the de Young as one of its venues. Noise Pop presents exhilarating performances by the electro-pop group, Gravy Train, and popular local DJ Jefrodisiac. The museum also hosts “Discarded to Divine 2007,” a Saint Vincent de Paul Society exhibition of one-of-a-kind fashions made entirely from recycled clothing. Compare these works with those of fashion legend, Vivienne Westwood, in the special exhibition, Vivienne Westwood: 36 Years in Fashion, which stays open until 8:45 p.m. with a reduced ticket price of $10 for visitors (free for members). Don’t miss the de Young’s unique Earth Day celebration this Friday night, April 20!
