CD Release Party With Violinist Rachel Barton Pine October 5, 2008

Cedille Records, Chicagos Grammy Award-winning independent classical record label, will host a CD release party October 5 in Evanston with acclaimed violinist Rachel Barton Pine to celebrate her new album, "Beethoven & Clement Violin Concertos."

The all-ages event, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at S.P.A.C.E., 1245 Chicago Ave., Evanston (same entrance as Union Pizzeria).

Ms. Pine will play a violin-and-piano arrangement of one movement from Franz Clements delightful Violin Concerto in D, from 1805, which receives its world-premiere recording on the new CD with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jos Serebrier. She will also perform her own Chicago Blues Medley at the party.

Complimentary pizza, appetizers, and beverages from Union Pizzeria will be served.

On the new CD, Ms. Pine also performs Beethovens illustrious Concerto for Violin in D, Op. 61, from 1806. The album went on sale worldwide September 9 and has already received rave reviews from critics at home and abroad.
