Cathy Kreger and What It Iz mixes blues and jazz with spanking rhythms, superb vocals, and lush guitar work, turning folk, rock, blues, and pop influences into a lyrical and melodic style that is as passionate as it is polished. Amanda Kaletsky is a singer-songwriter from Connecticut. Jumping from guitar to piano and back, Amanda delivers songs that are tastefully built around passion and melody. Nurtured by influences such as Joni Mitchell and Carole King, her introspective music ranges from sultry blues inspired love songs to power-driven pop hits, all carried by her emotional vocal performances. For the 2007-2008 season, 'Live in the Lobby' shows begin with a 30-minute "Songwriter Spotlight" featuring acoustic performances by two or three local songwriters, followed by the featured performers playing until about 10 PM.
