Overflowing with mirth, this who-dun-it is exciting from beginning to end. An advertising man who has brought his bride to the boss' mountain lodge for a honeymoon calls in the local police to investigate her sudden disappearance. Enter a pretty young girl insists over his protests that she is the missing wife. A priest backs up her story. A funny little man who owns a delicatessen enters and before you know it there are two murders at the isolated lodge.
The cast includes Christian Mast as Corban, Robin Wallace as Elizabeth, Wade Wood as Levine, Dell Domnik as the Catholic Priest, Ted Bishop as Sydney, Jon Farlof as Mr. Parker and Catherine Accardi as Parker’s mistress
Adapting a French boulevard play by Robert Thomas, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert moved the setting to the resort area of New York's Catskill Mountains. Using this background they named their detective Levine and threw in a lot of Jewish inflected humor. Levine is very much a Jewish Colombo, and one can only wonder if Levinson and Link were influenced by this play when developing the Peter Falk character shortly after Catch Me If You Can was produced in New York.
