?Artist Lecture Series? at Gallery Korea
Featuring Sang Nam Lee, artist, and Jonathan Goodman, art critic

Friday, March 26, 6 ? 8 pm

Gallery Korea is proud to announce a new Lecture Series, ?Case Studies.? This series will bring together a Korean or Korean-American artist living in New York and a prominent New York art professional in an effort to address one of the most pressing issues for young artists today: surviving as an artist in New York. This series was organized by Shinyoung Chung, an art critic based in New York. The series is hosted and sponsored by the Korean Cultural Service in New York.

The first lecture will feature artist Sang Nam Lee and critic Jonathan Goodman. Sang Nam Lee lives and works in New York. His works have been showcased in numerous exhibits and has been reviewed in The New York Times, Art in America, and Art Asia Pacific. His work was included in Gallery Korea?s group exhibition, ?At the Crossroads,? last fall.

Jonathan Goodman is a freelance writer who has published extensively on Asian art for the last 10 years. Currently, he is the reviews editor for Art Asia Pacific and teaches at the Pratt Institute and Parsons School of Design. He writes regularly for Art in America and Sculpture.

Shinyoung Chung will moderate the discussion. Email Jin Yong Chung, gallery curator, at [email protected] for more information. More information is also available at www.koreanculture.org or by calling (212) 759-9550.
