Saturday October Twenty Eighth
You are invited to:

The Carnival of Illusion
Thirteen hours of magic + music + decadence.
Details: http://www.thedanger.com

We spend most of our lives desperate for truth but on this
night we indulge in illusion. Saturday we offer you an
escape from the tedium of certainty with wild acts of
marvel + artful debauchery featuring a dozen dj’s, live
bands, artists and illusionists spread through a maze-like
massive Brooklyn loft.

The music will flow thick and lusty on the tightest sound
system in Brooklyn featuring Brazilian funk, hip-hop,
breaks, dark house and minimal techno.

With the turntable tricks of:
DJ Kimyon with live brass by Dana Leong + Justin Carter &
Kingston19 (presented by Nublu) + DJ DRM of Bastard Jazz
Recordings + Howie Records of Blackkat with a special
fuzzpop session + Wolf & Lamb & Spinoza with an extended
set of minimal techno waking the sunrise. In the
ImageNode geodesic dome experience live glitch hop and
ambient experiments by Morgan Packard, Autophage, Sean K,
Borne & Mindbeam.

In the room of roses marvel to the live sound treats of:

Nervous Cabaret (11pm):
Imagine Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan singing with members of the
Stray Cats and the Clash, only more intense, and you've
got Nervous Cabaret. Elyas Khan's Pakistan-trained voice
belts out songs about getting drunk, falling out of love
and selling out over endlessly evocative coronet by Fred
Wight, fierce contrabass (Matt Morandi), drums (Brian
Geltner) and now they've added a second drummer. You're
guaranteed to both dance and cry within half an hour.

Subatomic Sound System (10pm):
Born at the turn of the millennium during a collision of
circuit boards, New York City asphalt, and human skin,
this live group of seasoned musicians experiments with
hip-hop, dub reggae, dancehall and drum and bass with
excessive exposure to gamma radiation. They are as
danceable as they are poetic, a future sound that is not
to be missed.

Hungry March Band with The Society of the Spectacle (1am):
At 1am the brash brass of the Hungry March Band will storm
the main floor with all the heat and lust that funk and
bass drums inevitably inspire. Along for the ride will be
the Society of the Spectacle: a massive puppet and lewd
stilt feat of beauty and integrity. Including the
performers of Boring Incorporated and Body Temple.

Madman Magic by Magic Brian (between bands):
Magic tricks and dark humored treats will explode from the
stage as Magic Brian brings his unique concoction of
side-show antics, illusionist skill and Bindlestiff
bravado.

Plus art and decore by Sharp Nic, Betty K, Anya
Sapozhnikova and Ad-Hoc Arts (free silk screening!);
video illusion by Sebastian Patane Masuelli; hot cider
and dark stories from Chiho and the Woodman; and bottles
of champagne will be rewarded to those in brilliant costumes.

This is the night you believe in - when our nyc cynicism
melts into a pure manifestation of myth, masquerade and
unapologetic self-indulgence.
