Carmel Clay Schools have plans to promote and encourage recycling in the schools and community during the week of November 15, 2011, America Recycles Day.

Carmel High School

Carmel Utilities, Carmel Area Roots & Shoots, CHS IB students, and DAO Recycling will host a drive on Saturday, November 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the CHS stadium parking lot. The CHS students will be on hand to help unload recyclables. Items to drop off include electronics, microwaves, small appliances, TVs, cell phones, computer equipment (with hard drives removed or reformatted), dehumidifiers, small lawn tools, fans, medical/orthopedic equipment, cardboard, and bicycles. Tax-deductible donation receipts are offered for many items.

Carmel High School also has a number of events planned for the week of November 15. Students will be invited to make videos about recycling that will be shown at lunchtime, will create a school display, and will read recycling announcements throughout the week. An America Recycles Day banner and posters will be hung throughout the school.
