College of the Canyons Career Center presents CareerCampSCV, a hybrid conference/unconference dedicated to helping you build the career you deserve. The day will include scheduled speakers, ad hoc presentations and breakout sessions on all aspects of building your career. CareerCamp is for anyone who wants to build and/or improve their career.

This event is a follow up to a successful event delivered January 2010 in Northridge, CA, where 125 people exchanged career ideas and built personal networks. Read more about the Northridge CareerCampLA here.

CareerCampSCV is a free event. This is not a job fair. No one is offering employment. No volunteer gets paid.

It is a grass roots effort to empower the Santa Clarita community with career strategies: to share, enlightened and inform. We welcome your participation. We welcome your input and support.

CareerCampSCV 2010 Strives to Help you Build the Career you Deserve

(Santa Clarita, CA) – CareerCampSCV 2010 is a FREE, hybrid conference/unconference dedicated to “helping you build the career you deserve”. It is being brought to by the Career Center of the College of the Canyons. Seminars will include scheduled speakers, ad hoc presentations and breakout sessions on everything from transitioning between careers, enhancing your skills to climb the company ladder, being your own career coach and staying positive in negative times.

CareerCampSCV will be held 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the

Preregistration is requested to avoid overcrowding. Attendees can register and receive tickets for free at the CareerCampSCV web site: http://careercampSCV.wordpress.com.

While CareerCampSCV will have some scheduled speakers, there will also be an unconference element where interested attendees can speak during open slots and decide the topics of breakout sessions. The unconference idea supports the fact that there is a large amount of knowledge in the existing community and gives everyone a chance to share what they know with others.
