The Capitol Hill Block Party is a huge, two-day explosion of bands and a unique combination of Seattle Music Community forces including The Stranger, KEXP, 107.7 The End, The Vera Project, Neumo's, Fuzed Music and Home Alive, bringing together the best music from the country's hottest music scene into the Northwest's biggest celebration of independent music, art and progressive culture. Partial proceeds from The Block Party benefit Home Alive and The Vera Project and Vera Members have their own stage they book and produce, aptly titled The Vera Stage. The Vendor section is made up of local independent businesses, indie crafts people, local artists, and various non-profit and political groups. Most important though is the music....oh, and a great beer garden! There are over 45 bands on three stages, sun, great food and beer in the street.

This year the Block Party is moving one block south to Pike Street. This will allow us to open up the streets and have less fencing, to run Friday and Saturday Nights, July 28-29 and to use Neumo's and The Bad JuJu Lounge as stages. 2006 will be the best and biggest Block Party yet! Doors open at 3:00 pm on Friday, 1:00 pm on Saturday. The outdoor stages run until 11pm, inside until 2am.
