Candidates forum April 22, 2006

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.'s Xi Gamma Omega Chapter will hold their candidates' forum.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is a Greek letter organization that has been in existence since 1908, with a worldwide membership of approximately two hundred thousand members. Xi Gamma Omega, with approximately seventy-five members, is one of the chapters serving the Oakland, CA geographic area.

The Candidate's Forum will have candidates from the various elections which affect Oakland voters, i.e. Oakland City Auditor candidates, Oakland mayoral candidates, Oakland City Councilperson candidates, Oakland School Board candidates and Assembly District 16 candidates. The news media have been invited to cover the event.

Candidates for the positions named above, along with candidates for the Assembly District 16 race have also been invited to participate. The purpose of the Candidate's Forum is to give candidates for the various elected positions an opportunity to address a wide range of issues that affect the Oakland community.
