Father Richard John Neuhaus is the author of, among other books, Catholic Matters: Confusion, Controversy, and the Splendor of Truth, and the Editor-in-Chief of First Things, a monthly publication of the Institute on Religion and Public Life. Philip Gorski is a Professor of Sociology at Yale University and Co-Director of the Working Group on Religion, Politics and Society; he is currently working on a book entitled Liberalism, Nationalism, and Civility: Religion and Politics in America from Winthrop to Obama.
