Canada's former ambassador to Afghanistan, Arif Z. Lalani: "Transforming Afghanistan from a Failed State to a Viable State" January 22, 2009

Canada's former ambassador to Afghanistan, Arif Z. Lalani, will speak at the University of California, Berkeley, January 22, 2009, 4 p.m. at International House on "Transforming Afghanistan from a Failed State to a Viable State." Ambassador Lalani will discuss his views on the conditions in Afghanistan, giving an insider's account. He will also discuss the Canadian effort and explore what lessons can be learned for other similar situations. He is currently Senior Visiting Fellow at the Munk Centre for International Studies, Trinity College, University of Toronto.
