Canada at Untethered September 24, 2008

This fall, Eyebeam presents Untethered, a group show featuring, among others, Canadian artists Michel de Broin, Germain Koh, and Max Dean. Untethered is a sculpture garden of everyday objects transformed into surrealist and surprising readymades: walls that move as you walk past, photocopiers that read the night sky, and PDAs turned guitars. The artists have imbued objects with new and mystifying intelligence, challenging the idea of `tethered appliances` - technologies that contain proprietary software and are tied to single uses or single networks.

A special opening night event with the artists will be held on Thursday, September 25th at 6 pm.
