The United States and Canada have maintained a close, peaceful, and prosperous bilateral relationship for decades. Nevertheless, the two countries have not always seen eye to eye on many political, environmental, and security issues; a trend that remains evident today.

Please join the Canada Institute for what promises to be an engaging and timely discussion on current relations between Canada and the United States. The dialogue will be based on the issues and themes raised in the newly released fourth edition of Canada and the United States: Ambivalent Allies, which provides a compelling and current assessment of such topics as border security, energy, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the second Bush administration.

The program will feature comments from the authors of Canada and the United States, John Thompson of Duke University and Stephen Randall of the University of Calgary. Canada-U.S. relations experts Donald Abelson of the University of Western Ontario and Scott See of the University of Maine will also be on the panel to offer their perspectives on the current state and future direction of Canada-U.S. relations.
