On your mark, get set, go!

The 14th annual Camper Scamper is calling all competitors to join in the family-oriented 10K (new!) and 5K Run, plus a 1 Mile Fun Run & Walk on Sat., Apr. 12, at Reverchon Park in Dallas (near Texas Scottish Rite Hospital). For the first time ever, Camper Scamper will feature a 10K Run (USATF Certified Course)! The morning kicks off with the 1 Mile Fun Run & Walk with post-race events including childrens activities and food from On the Border. Hawkeye from the Dorsey Gang Morning Show on the Big 96-3 KSCS is the races honorary chair.

The very unique Camper Scamper event benefits Camp John Marc, a special camp for special kids that serves children with chronic illnesses and physical disabilities. The money raised last year helped thousands of North Texas children journey to summer and weekend camps designed especially for children with cancer, hemophilia, sickle cell anemia, burn survivors, juvenile arthritis, muscular dystrophy and more.

Entry fees (which includes t-shirt) are $20 for pre-registered adults, $25 for those who sign up between Tues. Fri. prior to the race (Apr. 8 11), and $30 for race-day registration. For children (12 and under), entry fees are $10. To register, go to http://www.lukeslocker.com. Pick up race packets at Lukes Locker in Dallas (3607 Oak Lawn Ave., 75219) or in Plano (5717 Legacy Rd., #180, 75024).
