Central Square
Cambridge, Massachusetts

The Carnival, characterized by elaborate costumes, live Caribbean and South American music, ethnic foods and authentic arts and crafts, is a multi-day celebration which ends with a Carribean/Mardis Gras style costume parade that celebrates the culture of countries including Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Honduras, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and Barbados. Among the highlights of summer Carnival as celebrated in Cambridge are the Steel Bands, a KidsFest, and revelers. Joining the merriment and procession is an international assortment of costumed bands, some of who will be awarded for their performance, craftsmanship, creativity, and visual impact.

I haven't been to this festival before but it looks like it could be interesting.
