This Earth Day-inspired bicycle tour of Pasadena's favorite trees on Saturday, April 26, 2008 is part of C.I.C.L.E.’s monthly Urban Expedition program and Pasadena’s Greening the Earth Festival. Pasadena City Arborist and C.I.C.L.E.’s certified cycling instructors will lead this relaxed bicycle ride geared towards cyclists of all ability and all ages through the city’s most fantastic canopies to the tunes of C.I.C.L.E.’s on-bike sound system. In addition to learning the history of Southern California’s famous trees and streetscapes, participants will have the opportunity to learn from a city expert about tree maintenance and protection that is useful for home and garden.

The Pasadena Tree Ride is a recreational social event open to all skill levels. The ride will begin at Levitt Pavilion at Memorial Park and wind through the streets of Pasadena, stopping at various at institutions for short talks about the trees. The pace of the ride is relaxed and easy, and beginning bicyclists should feel free to join the ride. The ride is lead by experienced cyclists, and includes a sweep rider to ensure the group stays together. The ride will end back at Memorial Park at the Greening the Earth Festival.
