Byers-Evans House Gallery presents “Siobhan Keleher: iPhoneography”

Siobhan Keleher: iPhoneography will be on view in the Byers-Evans House Gallery, located at 1310 Bannock Street in Denver, November 4 through December 31. A free opening reception from 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday, November 4, will be held in the gallery in conjunction with the Denver Arts Week “Know Your Arts First Friday.” Dozens of art galleries will be staying open late throughout Denver, featuring live music, art demonstrations, food and drink, and offering a chance to interact with artists.

Siobhan Keleher, a fourth generation Colorado native says “One thing I love about photography is that I don’t use the rowdy, relentless verbal part of my mind to do it. I live in a marvelous world and the brief quiet moments observed amidst frenetic life compel me to record and share them.” Siobhan takes pictures at whim, everywhere. “The camera has limited options – I can’t zoom or choose focus – forcing me to make more judicious decisions about the features I can control, honing my sense of composition.” Last year, Siobhan won Best of Show in the Denver Plein Air Arts Festival and as a reward for her achievement; she received the opportunity for a solo show in the Byers-Evans House Gallery.

The Byers-Evans House Gallery focuses on the art of Denver, Colorado, and the Rocky Mountain West and it is located in the visitor center of the Byers-Evans House Museum.
