Just so there are no hidden connections here, please know that I work at Rice and one of my jobs is to propose technology courses for the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. (I don't teach). So why did I propose this course? Two years ago I bought a wildly expensive laptop from a well-known manufacturer. The offshore support I purchased with it was extremely poor. Now I'm in the market for another laptop and grimly determined not to make the same mistake twice.
