Thirty-nine years after the Blaxploitation film 'Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song's' release, Mr. Melvin Van Peebles has chosen Burnt Sugar to perform the soundtrack live, on-stage, for the theatrical world premiere at Paris' Sons d'hiver Festival in February 2010. Joe's Pub presents Burnt Sugar for a baadasssss time of tunes from the soundtrack, an appearance by Mr. Van Peebles himself, and of course the conducted-improvisational mash-ups for which the Burnt Sugar crew is famous.
