In this workshop, you will take your understanding of evaluation theory, roll up your sleeves, and apply your growing expertise to your own programs and projects. Our work will be based on your experiences with evaluation and supplemented by examples from the environmental NGO sector. Through individual and group work, we will develop key evaluation documents and give and receive constructive feedback.

Topics will include:
• Using a logic model and theory of change to focus your evaluation
• Developing your evaluation’s purpose statement
• Developing evaluation questions
• Choosing evaluation tools: pros, cons, and appropriate uses
• Writing your evaluation strategy

GREENEST CITY – CLEAN AIR PARTNERSHIP – ONTARIO TRILLIUM FOUNDATION EVALUATION PROJECT

The goal of this project is to enable the environmental NGO community to:
• Better incorporate consistent evaluation techniques and methodologies into their work
• Develop and deliver more effective programs and projects that achieve their goals.

WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

Jess Abramson is the Coordinator of the Clean Air Partnership – Greenest City – Ontario Trillium Foundation Evaluation Project. Jess is an energetic and creative facilitator with extensive experience in adult education and the environmental and social sectors. As an evaluator, Jess has consulted with various environmental organizations to build staff capacity around, design, and implement evaluations. Her propensity for critical analysis, participatory research, and inquiry is due in part to her education at Dalhousie University, where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies.

Registration is $95 and is due two weeks prior. Payment can be made over the phone by credit card through calling Stephen Geigen-Miller at (416) 392-6672 or by cheque payable to Clean Air Partnership (mail to Clean Air Partnership 75 Elizabeth St. Toronto, ON, M5G 1P4). Receipts will be provided on-site.

This workshop is designed primarily for people working or volunteering in environmental and conservation nonprofit organizations. If you are in another field but would still like to participate, please email Jess at the above address.

The workshop will take place at City Hall at 100 Queen Street West, Committee Room 4 in downtown Toronto. It is located on Queen Street, west of Yonge Street and east of University Avenue. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 am.

REFUNDS

A full refund will be given for cancellations received with more than 3 business days. Cancellations received within 3 business days of the session can expect a fifty percent refund to cover the cost of administration associated with your registration and catering.
