The Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI), in partnership with the John Templeton Foundation, established the Culture of Enterprise Initiative to explore the cultural traits, institutional prerequisites, and societal achievements of the free-market economy worldwide. The Initiative’s goal is to further illuminate, in our age of globalization, the underpinnings of humane market systems. To realize this vision, ISI and the John Templeton Foundation are hosting the Templeton Enterprise Awards, granted annually to three books and three articles written by scholars under forty years of age which exemplify the core principles of the Culture of Enterprise Initiative. The Awards are intended to cultivate a new generation of rising scholars with the willingness to examine and explicate the crucial nexus that exists between economic prosperity and moral flourishing within model free societies. Among the largest in the United States, the prizes are $50,000 for the winning book and $25,000 for the leading article.
