BSL Tour of Dali at Tate Modern, Friday 3rd August 2007, 7pm

Presenter: Tomato Lichy (in BSL)
Date: Friday 3rd August 2007
Time: 7pm - 8pm
Meeting point: Tate Modern Level 4
Voice Over Interpreter: Alison Pottinger
Price: Free entry.

See the famous surreal artist Salvador Dali! His artworks defined a
world of his own, and annoyed many other artists!

The Tate Modern has a major exhibition of his greatest paintings, many
borrowed from around the world, including the iconic melting watches of
The Persistence of Memory and the flaccid head on stilts of Sleep.

It also includes his classic films L'Age d'or and Un Chien Andalou,
made with fellow surrealist Luis Bunuel, with the infamous image of an
eye being cut by a razor.

Dali also worked with Disney to make a surreal animated short film in
1962, but it vanished. In 2003, Walt Disney's nephew completed the
film, and it will be shown for the first time in the UK at the
exhibition. Come on Friday and see it for free!

The talk will be delivered in BSL and interpreted simultaneously into
spoken English.

The Tate Modern will be open until 10.00pm afterwards for browsing,
watching the films or socialising after the talk.

Best wishes,

Tomato Lichy
