Imagine Led Zeppelin playing 'The Lonely Goatherd,' the Von Trapp kids and the Jackson 5 joining together ('Do Re Mi'/'ABC'), or the Ventures performing 'Sixteen Going on Seventeen.' 'The Hills Are Alive' is Brooklyn Rundfunk Orkestrata's inspired adaptation of the classic musical 'The Sound of Music.' A project blessed by the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization, BRO mashes up the songs of the classic 1965 musical with classic rock hits. Strains of rock, R&B, hip-hop, bebop, gospel, and country intertwine in a musical highwire act that deftly maintains the balance between respectful tradition and dramatic innovation.
