Featured storyteller for May
Simon Airey --- Winner of the 2008 Bristol Festival Story Slam!

Twelve years ago, whilst living on the border of Scotland, Simon was introduced to a master storyteller called Angela Knowles. She acted as a mentor for him over the next few years and he worked with her regularly in a storytelling initiative called The Telling Place. For the last five years, Simon has worked half time in order to do more storytelling on both a professional basis and purely for fun. Simon’s stories include traditional folk and fairytale, sacred stories, personal and historical stories. He has told at the usual assortment of places: festivals, theatres, pubs, schools, cafes, places of worship and historical interest, outdoors and overseas! He also does workshops and courses in storytelling skills when requested, although he maintains that all you need as a storyteller you already have.
