Brazzissimo! in Concert - Playing Classical to Jazz June 9, 2007

Brazzissimo! announces its June Concert, "Playing Classical to Jazz!"

Brazzissimo! is a ten-piece brass ensemble modeled after the famous Brass Ensemble formed by British trumpeter Philip Jones in London in 1951. The basic instrumentation is 4 trumpets, 3 trombones, euphonium, French horn and tuba. Brazzissimo's musicians also employ piccolo trumpet, bass trombones, baritone, and flugelhorn. Brazzissimo's instrumentation allows full transcriptions of orchestral works to be played.

Brazzissimo! will perform works from Handel and Schubert to Kern, Sondheim and Brubeck.

Brazzissimo! has performed with the Contra Costa Wind Symphony, and the Diablo Valley College Wind Ensemble. In 2004 Brazzissimo! was invited to perform at the International Cultural Festival in Beijing, China. Brazzissimo! recently performed a joint concert of Russian music with the Diablo Symphony.

$10 adults, $5 children and seniors.
