Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the study of what works. It began in 1972 with two researchers in the US (John Grindler and Richard Bandler) who asked the question: how do some people do what they do excellently? They started investigating experts in therapy, and then spread into areas such as communication, influencing and learning. NLP has now spread into the 'harder' areas such as sales, leadership and teamwork.

You've probably heard of left brain / right brain thinking. Theories suggest that the two different sides of the brain control two different "modes" of thinking, and that each of us prefers one way over the other. Many of us in the IT industry probably have well developed abilities for l ogical analysis, the sequential processing of information - essentially "left brain" processing... but what about our Right Brain? Is there even more of our brain that we can use to make us even more effective?

The 2005 Gartner Report entitled "The IT Professional Outlook: Where will we go from here?" made a number of predictions about the IT Industry in 2010. Among those predictions is that technical aptitude will no longer be enough, and that versatility will be crucial. This is your chance to enhance your versatility as an individual, both at work and at home.
