Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by DJ duo ADRIAN & MYSTERIOUS D -- aka A PLUS D -- BOOTIE was the first club night in the United States dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and has since become the biggest all-mashup event in the world, with regular parties in multiple cities on four continents, along with various one-off events from Beijing to Brazil. Bootie celebrates -- and satirizes -- the many different forms of music. Mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party where everyone feels welcome, Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation -- with free mashup CDs given away like candy. And rounding out the insanity, Bearracuda's RENTTECCA takes the stage for the infamous Midnight Mashup Show!
