This coming Friday, May 18th, Bootie NYC – the New York version of the only 100% bootleg mashup dance party in the world – will be going monthly at Element!

Midnight mashup show: TRIXXIE CARR & ADRIAN ROBERTS of SMASH-UP DERBY – the world's only live mashup rock band
We've got another great lineup of mashup DJs for you this month, including ourselves – DJs ADRIAN & the MYSTERIOUS D. We'll be spinning the absolute best in bastard pop for you all night, digging deep into our massive mashup collection from the past five years, mixing and matching every conceivable musical genre, era, and style into one big A.D.D. dance party!
Also -- tune into to WFMU between 3pm and 6pm this Friday to get a taste of what you will hear at Bootie -- Adrian and the Mysterious D will be guests of Billy Jam on his fantastic Put the Needle On the Record radio show!
Part of what makes BOOTIE unique is the MIDNIGHT MASHUP SHOW, where singers perform mashups sung live. This Friday, you'll be treated to a rare New York performance by TRIXXIE CARR, along with Adrian Roberts, vocalists for SMASH-UP DERBY, the Bootie house band in San Francisco. As singers for "the world's only mashup rock band," these two know how to mash it up and make it look easy, and Trixxie is one of the most captivating singers you'll ever see. ... and Adrian & Trixxie together are a force to be reckoned with!
Joining the party this month will be New York City's very own DJ RESET, who made history in America with the first commercially-released mashup ever, "Frontin' on Debra" – a hybrid of Beck's "Debra" and Pharrell Williams and Jay-Z's "Frontin'." Mixmag called his genre-busting style an "ass-kicker" and he's opened for the Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Ja Rule, Chingy, Fabolous, The Prodigy, and others. He's gonna be sure to rock the party!
Also spinning will be DJ LOBSTERDUST, also from New York City, and one of our favorite mashup producers. Born and raised in Israel, his innovative mashups mix indie, pop, dance, and hip-hop into a unique sonic collage, and have received significant airplay on radio stations around the globe, including Sirius, France's Oui FM, and LA's Indie 103.1.
Bootie's crowd is as mashed up as it's music, so anything goes. Bring whoever you want, and wear whatever you're feeling that evening! Of course, being a club that plays pirated bootlegs, we always have a soft spot for pirate wear or skulls & crossbones.
