The BOOK OF JOB, the first complete monograph about Studio Job, launches on December 7th at 6:30 PM in Cooper Union’s historic Great Hall (7 East 7th Street at Third Avenue, New York) with “Free as a Ball and Chain,” a lecture by artist Job Smeets, principal of the brilliant Dutch-Belgian design team. Smeets and his partner Nynke Tynagel are considered among the greatest artists at the intersection of design and art to have emerged in the last decade. Their award-winning furniture and art objects bring a monumental sensibility to contemporary industrial design, leavened with unapologetic wit and romance.
The slip-cased book is two-in-one with Studio Job on one side, and then on the flip side, the biblical Book of Job complete with illustrated illuminations. Ten authors contributed texts, including Murray Moss, Alessandro Mendini, Nadja Swarovski, Gareth Williams and Victor & Rolf.
This event is free and open to the public. RSVPs may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, visit http://www.cooper.edu, email email@example.com or call 212-353-4195.
