Bonde do Role is an alternative baile funk ensemble from Curitiba, Brazil. The band is characterized by the blatant sampling of popular American music and hooks from songs by Alice in Chains, The Darkness, and Prince, as well as music from the film 'Grease.' Putting a hip-hop twist on rock, Mike Ill and Rivka combine industrial-influenced drum machine beats with bluesey guitar and melodic, new wave unison vocals, interchanged with beatnik-style rapping.
