Bondage, Plagues, and Exodus: Israel in Egypt March 23, 2013

While most people are familiar with Messiah, less well-known is Handel's oratorio Israel in Egypt for double choir. The Salt Lake Choral Artists and Vocal Artists combine to present Handel's most colorful and musically expressive work, telling the story of the ten plagues in Egypt and the subsequent deliverance and freedom of the Israelites. Last performed locally by the Utah Symphony and combined choirs of the University of Utah in 1960, this will be a performance you won't want to miss! Alexander Woods, a violinist and specialist in early music performance practice will be the concertmaster and musical advisor.
