Joan Tower composed the fanfare, For the Uncommon Woman, to honor adventurous women and Made in America as a commission for 65 U.S. orchestras in all 50 states. Winner of the Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition, Olga Kern debuts in Rachmaninoff’s seldom-heard First Piano Concerto. Although composed in the Viennese symphonic tradition, Dvořák’s Sixth Symphony unmistakably portrays his Czech heritage.
