AEG Live is thrilled to announce BLUES TRAVELER and LEWIS BLACK live at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with special guests Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears Saturday, July 4, 2009. Lewis Black will perform at 6:15 pm.

Tickets start at just $25 for this summer concert tradition, Blues Traveler on the 4th of July at Red Rocks, Colorado’s favorite way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Independence Day.

BLUES TRAVELER
Formed in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1983, the band quickly became a mainstay on the club circuit, helping ignite a new generation of jam music fans. With renowned musicianship and song craft that blended blues-rock grooves with pop hooks, the band amassed a passionate following with its explosive live performances. In 1990, the band released their self-titled first album on A&M Records, followed by several more through the years including Four (1994) that spawned one of the biggest hits of 1995 - the Grammy-winning “Run-Around” – and sold 4 million copies. Success for the band has been built on a need for the band members to make themselves—and only themselves—happy while making music. Ask the band members themselves, and they’ll tell you: After scaling the peaks of both the jamrock mountain and the pop charts fairly early into their career, they faced a bit of an identity crisis. But they have since reaffirmed that Blues Traveler is and has always been the former, the same band that built a devoted following from coast-to-coast for its epic sets, and for transforming the jam scene in the early ’90s via its beloved H.O.R.D.E. (Horizons of Rock Developing Everywhere) festivals.

LEWIS BLACK
Lewis Black is one of the most prolific and popular performers working today. He executes a brilliant trifecta as stand-up comedian, actor and author. Receiving critical acclaim, he performs over 200 nights a year to sell out audiences throughout Europe, New Zealand, Canada and The United States. Lewis’ live performances provide a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience. Lewis yells so they don’t have to. A passionate performer who is more pissed off optimist than mean-spirited curmudgeon, he's perfected expressing what the rest of us can not say in polite company. Lewis is the rare comic who can cause an audience to laugh themselves into incontinence while making compelling points about the absurdity of our world. It’s no wonder he’s been compared to Mort Sahl, Lenny Bruce, and Bill Hicks.
