Pulling together the best in chemical pop, european sleaze, electro-punk, and live mash-up, The Blitzkrieg Bop has now firmly settled in to its regular monthly slot at the Arches (the 10th best club IN THE WORLD according to DJ mag and the 600 international DJs that voted!).

The formula – a heady mix of live acts and DJs from all over the electro-rock/pop/hip hop scale offer a shaken-up, synthesized take on your local alternative disco, at scandalously cheap prices.

We're no slouch when it comes to pulling in the international acts either- Electro art-punks Warren Suicide flew over from Berlin to play with Swimmer One, The Microsluts and Luxury Car, at the riotous re-launch party (launch as a resident Arches club-night), while Ladytron, Chicks on Speed, Aux 88 and Velvet Underwear were involved in following events (see blog archive for full line-ups).

Not content with entertaining Glasgow's gig and club go-ers with a fresh look at clubbing, The Bop also dips itself into promoting new art in Glasgow, exhibiting films from Glasgow School of Art graduates, videos from Swimmer One, art work from Warren Suicide, and from next month, The Bop becomes an incredible visual clubbing experience with artist Sinclair Neeson creating masks to be worn by all who enter the doors, and large prints running from ceiling to floor, installations and lighting features.

THIS MONTH:

* SHIT ROBOT (DFA Records)
* ERRORS
* MATCHSTICKS (Formerly The Flying Matchstick Men)
* ART OF PARTIES (DJ set)

Price: £6 (£4 concession)
