Blim does HIVE @ the Chapel

Featuring:
Darwin on Decks, Yogi Data on live ambient set, and BunnySoldier on visuals

In November, 2006 eleven of BC's best-known independent theatre companies will produce a giant, multi-faceted performance installation, called HIVE. A funky warehouse. 11 Performance Cells clustered around a central bar/café. Audience members grab a drink and select from a menu of performances, according to their own tastes and inclinations. They can see all 11. Or pick and choose. Or just hang at the bar, and cross-pollinate. At HIVE, everyone's the Queen Bee. Inspired by the popular gallery-mosh SWARM, HIVE is an unprecedented coming together of Vancouver's thriving independent theatre scene. Each company is given total control over its own cell. It will create an intimate short theatre piece, performing it for no more than twenty people at a time, at repeated intervals over the course of the evening. You'll be able to catch a carnival side-show, a piece of toy theatre, a post-modern slice of faux dinner theatre, or none of the above. Companies are given free-rein to create whatever they want, according to their own aesthetic desires.

HIVE runs from November 9th to 11th, 2006
