Blim and Carine Mai Chan presents:

Threading the Mountain

New Artworks and Diorama by Carine Mai Chan.
When divulging the meaning of her work Carine is hesitant to reveal too much. She believes that the viewer’s role in interpreting her art lends itself to a childlike process of discovery she hopes to expound. Working primarily with drawing media on paper, the artist constructs what she deems biological landscapes infused with ‘psychological symbols’ derived from dreams.

Although born in Winnipeg in 1985, Carine Mai Chan spent a nomadic childhood traveling back and forth between provinces alongside her family. To refrain from truly settling anywhere, Carine instead turned her focus inward, cultivating a love for drawing, painting, and classical piano, as well as an intrinsic regard for nature.
