Long-time staples of the Chicago experimental scene, we're happy to welcome back BIRD NAMES as they hit the city in the midst of their Bird Names Mouth Off Tour. Playing 25 cities from Florida to Maine, the now Athens-based BIRD NAMES have released five full-length albums, the latest on our friend DAN DEACON's Wham City imprint, and have had LPs hailed as an "instant weirdo classic" and "one of the most well-crafted, unique and far-out pop albums in recent years," by Tiny Mix Tapes. Joining them tonight are CAMPFIRES, the project of front man JEFF WALLS, known for its jangly, densely-layered and reverb-heavy psych pop. Joining the fray is local duo UNMANNED SHIP, with their fuzzed out drum/synth/bass concoctions with names like "Daniel Day Lewis and Clark" and "I Don't Drink Pepsi Anymore," they promise to be the perfect kick off to tonight's Sunday show.
