'Beyond Mammography, an Evening with Dr. Len Saputo, MD March 15, 2010

"Beyond Mammography, Breast Thermography", a talk by Dr. Len Saputo, MD will illuminate the non-invasive, affordable tool of thermography for the Bay Area community. Dr. Saputo will show slides which illustrate typical thermography. More sensitive than mammography, thermography is useful to predict the risk of cancer before a neoplasm is present, measure tumor growth, and can reveal a neoplasm much earlier (smaller mass detection) than a mammogram can.

Breast thermography has demonstrated a higher degree of success in identifying women with breast cancer under the age of 55 in comparison to other technologies, and it's also an effective adjunct to clinical breast exams and mammography for women over 55.

This thermal imaging technology has been validated as effective and approved by the FDA for breast cancer risk assessment. Recent studies have documented that thermography, as a single test, has 99% accuracy in identifying breast cancer in women in the 30 to 55 age group. For women over 55 the accuracy is still an impressive 95%.

Dr. Len Saputo, MD is a board-certified internist with 40 years of experience. He has pioneered the development of an integrative, holistic, person-centered, preventive health care model called "Health Medicine."
