"Between Prairie and Sea: The Mississippi River as a Continental Transportation System": A talk with Hokan Miller October 30, 2007

Hokan Miller is a boat and barge dispatcher at Upper River Services, a harbor service in Saint Paul. He holds a Coast Guard license to operate towboats on western rivers and still pilots occasionally. He knows the Mississippi River in the Twin Cities as well as anyone alive and is a founding member of the Friends of the Mississippi River Board of Directors. The FMR works to protect the river through a program of land conservation, watershed protection and building community stewardship of the riverfront.
