Bay Area culture permeates the country in the form of language, music and fashion and local teens are at the vanguard of the movement.

best.worst.best uses humor, sarcasm, live beats, rhythmic text messaging, and a little film noir to capture the unique slang, music and mindset of our Bay Area teenagers.

best.worst.best takes place in the garage hang-out of a high-school junior whose mother is dying of cancer. He uses her medical marijuana to combat his own feelings of desperation, helplessness and panic. Set in Marin County, the play examines his attempts to appear "normal" in his relationships with his older brother, his friends and his grieving father while also dealing with the scrutiny that comes with a family tragedy in a small community.

Writer/director Andrea L. Hart's last play, Splinters...and Other F-Words, played an extended run to sold-out houses in Berkeley and was hailed as "provocative" and "surprisingly poignant" by East Bay Express.

In this new piece, Hart collaborated with two Marin teenagers, Aidan Gavet and Chloe Bertles, applying her extensive experience as a teaching artist to paint an arresting portrait that portrays both the profound and everyday reality of the lives of Bay Area teenagers. best.worst.best aims to be the first in a groundbreaking series of new work written about and with Bay Area teenagers.

best.worst.best will be performed in an exciting new space in Marin. BASS is a state-of-the-art sound recording studio founded on a commitment to building community amongst artists of all kinds. Not only does this align with the original music and beats incorporated in the performance.

If you want to have a "hella fresh" experience that you'll be talking about for a long time, hurry and get tickets today. Only four scheduled performances.
