Berklee College of Music, Boston Harbor Island Alliance, and the Boston Harbor National Park bring free live music to Peddocks Island. The concert features Berklee student jazz trombonist John Egizi. While in high school, he won soloist awards at major jazz competitions around the country, and played in the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra and the Thelonious Monk All-Star High School Jazz Septet. Egizi has shared the stage with artists like Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, and Christian McBride. He also plays bass, composes jazz music, and produces hip-hop tracks.
The concert takes place weather permitting. Peddocks Island is accessible by ferry from Boston’s Long Wharf North (MBTA Blue Line to Aquarium, Green or Orange line to Haymarket). Ferry tickets can be purchased at the Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion or at BostonsBestCruises.com. Additional information: bostonharborislands.org.
