Come be part of the THIRD in a series of monthly community Dialogues where you and other Bangaloreans will have an opportunity to engage in honest and constructive conversations about issues that matter to you and your city.

This month, in light of the recent bombings in Delhi, the communal violence in Mangalore and Orissa, and the July bombings right here in Bangalore, we want to give Bengaluru’s citizens an opportunity to reflect on and talk about:

Violence in Urban India

Friday, September 26th
7-9:30 pm
Koshy’s Chill Out Ice Cream Parlour
No. 39 St. Mark’s Road, Bangalore, next to Koshy’s Restaurant

All are welcome. Snacks are on the house.

Bengaluru Speaks is part of Meta-Culture Dialogics's effort to create a “culture of dialogue” where civil society has opportunities to address conflict and talk about important issues in ways that are meaningful and productive. The goal of the series is to introduce to India’s urban public innovative and non-adversarial ways to engage with difficult issues. Open to all Bangaloreans, the monthly community dialogue sessions are facilitated by MCD’s trained Conflict Resolution professionals.

Topics are chosen from current issues of local importance and from participants’ own suggestions. These may include: urban development and quality of life; civic engagement; cultural space in urban Bangalore; water and environment in Bangalore; multi-nationals vs. small business; caste, class and color in urban India; and the urban Indian “family.”

Meta-Culture Dialogics is a registered trust based in Bangalore. The organization endeavors to build peaceable and sustainable communities by changing how individuals and groups in conflict talk with each other and helping them address serious problems constructively.
