Bell Orchestre, an instrumental band from Montreal, features Sarah Neufeld and Richard Parry of Arcade Fire. They explore various classical styles and non-traditional musical forms to create a panoramic soundtrack that is expansive and enveloping. Bell Orchestre criss-crosses between the delicate intimacy of chamber music, the urgent ferocity of post punk and rock, and the intricacy of contemporary electronic music. Often drawing comparisons to film music, the band does not create movie soundtracks, but rather musical meeting places for city ghosts, shifting architecture and ever-curious ears. They are touring in support of their latest album, As Seen Through Windows (Arts & Crafts, March 2009).
