Spend an evening with Behind the Book and rising literary stars Benjamin Hale, Danielle Evans, and Deb Olin Unferth.

BENJAMIN HALE is the author of the debut novel "The Evolution of Bruno Littlemore," which was just praised in Sunday's New York Times Book Review. According to Jonathan Ames, Benjamin is “the most talented and intriguing young writer I’ve met in years.”

DANIELLE EVANS is the author of "Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self," a debut short story collection that received praise from The New York Times, The Washington Post, New York Magazine, and made O Magazine’s list of 2010’s top-ten books.

DEB OLIN UNFERTH offers a new twist on the coming-of-age memoir in "Revolution: The Year I Fell in Love and Went to Join the War," the story of the year she ran away from college with her boyfriend to join the Sandinistas in Nicaragua. Dave Eggers calls it “a very funny, excoriatingly honest story....”

Behind the Book is a literacy nonprofit working with low-income students in NYC public schools. Our mission is to excite children and young adults about reading. Working in the 1st -12th grades, we bring authors and their books into individual classrooms to build literacy skills and a new generation of book readers. www.behindthebook.org
