Beer and Blog - Salem Style June 2, 2009

Justin Kistner, founder of Beer and Blog, is scheduled to attend the first Salem Beer and Blog meeting, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 2 at the f-stop visual arts center, 335 Grove St NE in Salem. Recently featured on the front page of the Oregonian, the group started in 2007 as a means to swap information among peers in the Portland tech scene. The movement has grown to 14 chapters in North America, Europe and Asia. Salem is the fourth Oregon city to organize a get-together.

The Salem blogging community has become extremely active in the past six months. Local blogging aggregator salemites.com features dozens of local bloggers writing about food, arts, culture, politics and other topics of interest. In an effort to get to see the faces behind the blogs, Salem Beer and Blog was created to establish a physical network for bloggers to share ideas and technology in a relaxed environment.
