Beam Camp and URDB.org present first-ever BROOKLYN WORLD RECORD DAY April 4, 2009

Ever dream of doing something longer, bigger, faster, slower, louder, softer or anything-er than anyone else on earth? On April 4 at the Brooklyn Lyceum, Beam Camp and the Universal Record Database (URDB.org) are hosting the first-ever Brooklyn World Record Day. Kids 7-17 will have an opportunity to set their own personal world records before collaborating to set a very special group record.

On Brooklyn World Record Day, event participants will first be inspired by a distinguished world record holder who will share the physical, spiritual and creative challenges and triumphs of their own record quest. All participants will then set their own world records, working in small groups with URDB-certified supervisors to complete official video and paperwork documentation. The day will culminate with all record setters collectively preparing for and attempting a new world record.

Admission is $5 per child. Adults admitted only if accompanied by a child. Participants must also come prepared with an individual world record they'd like to set. Possible ideas: Most Funny Faces In One Minute, Fastest Rendition Of (Favorite Song), Largest Collection Of Oklahoma Quarters, Fastest Time To Spell "Cheeseburger", Most Clementines Peeled In One Minute, Most Socks Worn At Once, Most Jonas Brothers Songs Named In One Minute. Be imaginative. The only rule is that records must be quantifiable and breakable.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Neighbors Helping Neighbors (http://www.nhnhome.org/), an organization empowering low and moderate income Brooklyn residents to secure quality housing and build financial assets.
